Insomnia can actually make you ill with symptoms like nausea, headaches, body aches, confusion and can cause your immune system to become weak, increasing your risk of becoming sick.
Well… first off, you are 15… get over the boy. I don’t think you should really be dating yet anyways.You have a few symptoms of insomnia, but I think all you really are is a teenager. Sucks, but it’s true.You just have to get over the insecurities and make a conscious attempt to tell the truth.If you want to go to a doctor, see if they say you have insomnia, then they will give you drugs to put you to sleep… don’t take PM stuff that you decide you want to take, please. It is easy to get dependent on sleep medications, and you don’t want to do that.The headaches could be caused by lack of sleep, or I used to have headaches because I needed glasses and was straining my eyes all day.Mostly what it sound like to me is that you are a teenager, and going through tough transition years. I don’t think you have insomnia… if it takes you 45-60 mins to fall asleep. Usually people who have insomnia lie awake for many hours and get little or no sleep for days, weeks or months. Maybe you’re stressed without realising. Try having a warm shower or bath before bed, listen to soft soothing music or read a book.Hope that helps hun. Good luck and take care X
I used to take Benadryl as my sleep aid. It can stop working after a period of time. It’s one of those drugs that becomes ineffective after continuous usage. I highly recommend Melatonin. It’s a natural sleep aid that you can find at stores like Walgreens. There are different "dosages" depending on the person. You may need a higher one due to insomnia. I would go to a place like Walgreens or a local healthfood store and ask them what dosage you think would be good to try. It works wonders for me. I’m on one of the lowest dosages. I used to average 3 hrs of sleep (if I was lucky) Now I sleep a minimum of 8 hrs. And I’m not putting anything into my system that wouldn’t be there anyway.
Yes I really have insomnia right now and it is soo dark out there and there is no moon, but it is only 6.21PM and I cannot sleep. Is this truly normal?
